Slash and Myles Kennedy Announce New Album In The Fall

Myles Kennedy Slash Guns N Roses

It's official! After rumors started spreading that Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators were working on a new album, the group announced that they have officially entered the studio with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette, who has worked with Alter Bridge, Iggy Pop, and Incubus. A new album and North American tour are expected in the Fall. The group consists of Slash on guitar, Alter Bridge frontman Myles Kennedy handling vocals, Brent Fitz on drums, bassist Todd Kerns and guitarist Frank Sidoris. This record will follow up 2014's World On Fire.

"I'm excited about the new stuff we put together for this next record; it's got some cool songs and it's got a great live feel," Slash explains (via Blabbermouth). "I've been working with Myles, Brent and Todd for about eight years now. It's been an amazing ride so far; as a band we continue to get better which is great. With the addition of Frank since the 'World On Fire' tour, I feel we have hit a great, creative stride which I definitely think shows on this next record."

Slash continues: "Guns N' Roses will be headlining European festivals this summer, it's going to be a 110 percent performance and a huge blast. I love doing European fests and this is the first time we've done any proper festivals over there on the 'Not In This Lifetime' tour. It's indescribable to explain these shows. I'm looking over and seeing AxlDuff and Dizzy whom I've known forever, but it also feels like an entirely new experience with RichardFrank and Melissa. It's like being in a new band, except there's a chemistry that is established from days of old, so it's a natural thing that’s always been there."

Rumors of a new Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators album began to circulate after Slash's girlfriend  Meegan Hodges commented on Instagram that the guitarist and Kennedy were in the studio working on a new project. At the time, Kennedy denied the rumors but had said in multiple interviews that the group has an album's worth of new material.

Myles Kennedy recently released his solo album Year of the Tiger earlier in March. Guns N' Roses' Not In This Lifetime tour has been incredibly successful grossed a whopping $400 million. There are still no plans for the band to record a new album.
