Cities In Palm Beach County & All Of Miami-Dade County Have Mask Orders

More Florida cities are telling residents to cover up to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

The city of Boca Raton on Thursday issued an order that encourages anyone in the city to wear a mas or some type of cloth to cover their faces in public. This order covers anyone working, living, visiting or doing business in the city.

The City of Delray Beach issued an emergency declaration Thursday, ordering visitors and residents to wear masks.

Effective Saturday, anyone inside stores, working construction sites or conducting home delivery services are required to wear some type of cover over their nose and mouth.

While not following the rules is a criminal misdemeanor, few cities are expected to actually have police arrest people. Instead, job sites and retailers are expected to enforce the rules.

Miami-Dade County is also making masks mandatory in public places. That order went into effect at midnight, Thursday night. The order does not apply to children under the age of two or those with preexisting conditions who may have trouble breathing with a mask covering their nose and mouth.
