A community marching band from Riviera Beach is facing a deadline this weekend to make a deposit for their trip to London.

The Sounds of Success Marching Band was invited to perform at London Band Week next June, but needs a $50,000 deposit by Sunday just to keep working on attaining the goal of sending all of its members to England.

An anonymous donor wrote a $10,000 check to the Band, and the donor said she'd give another $10,000 if someone else stepped up with a similar $10,000 donation.

Wellington resident Robert Van Winkle, better known as rapper Vanilla Ice, recently showed up to the band's practice and tried to drum up support for them.

In addition to donations, the SOS band is selling raffle tickets for $100 and those who enter have the chance to win one of two cars and other prizes.
