An eight-year-old boy in Mission, British Columbia, Canada, wanted to help sick kids – and was quickly able to raise hundreds of dollars to donate to charity.
Max Chequis, started small. His grandmother explained that if he filled up a one-liter bottle with dimes, he’d have about $450. So, he spent some time collecting dimes -- and came away with more than $200.
Then he set up a lemonade stand to collect more donations. Word began to spread on social media and those donations poured in.
When he was all done, he had more than $700, which he donated to a Cops For Cancer cycling campaign. The officers on bicycles actually stopped by Max’s house to pick up the donation.
