Girl Scout troop donates "Tiny Library" to school

A Girl Scout Troop in Sparta, New Jersey, is hoping to give kids in their neighborhood more to do this summer by building a tiny library and filling that library with books.

The troop built a structure on top of a stand outside of a school, then filled the structure with books, with each book containing a personalized message inside.

A ceremony featuring a grand unveiling introduced the library to the public – so now, members of the community have a new selection of books to look through and enjoy.

Creating the library earned each troop member the Bronze Award, the highest honor a Girl Scout Junior can receive.
