Florida Teen Raises Money For Homeless Vets By Carving U.S. Flags

Lorenzo Liberti from Florida's west coast has been working in his garage hand-carving U.S. flags for the last eight months. The 15-year-old uses pinewood and his incredible skill and talent to create what he calls "Heroic Flags." He then uses the money he makes from them for good causes.

He has made 50 of the wooden flags so far and after he sells them, the young man donates the money to groups that support children with special needs, as well as homeless veterans, and what has become his most recent passion: honoring our front line medical workers. He says that his goal is to raise enough funds to get one of his awesome wooden flags in a hospital in every state.

Florida can be checked off that list because he’s already got a seven-foot hand-made flag at Sarasota Memorial, where his mom works.

“This is what gets me up in the morning,” the teen says, “and helps me sleep late at night.”
