Family Drive 2,500 Miles To Adopt Harvey The Husky

Harvey the husky is a pup with a unique face. His veterinarian thinks he was probably the victim of a bite as a puppy and it was that which caused his face to be sort of lopsided. Apparently, his "look" made it hard for him to get adopted.

But he has found a forever home thanks to the work of Joy Ollinger.

Joy works at San Diego’s Department of Animal Service. She quickly bonded with Harvey and was rather upset that he had been in the shelter for months with no one interested, so she decided to snap some pics of Harvey and go online with them. She posted his story and photos on Facebook and it caught the attention of Sherry Lankston who lives over 2,000 miles away. Sherry instantly fell in love with the husky.

Sherry and Joy talked on the phone and the next thing you know, Sherry and her family were on their way to San Diego. Even the Langston’s current dog loved Harvey.

Now, Harvey has a new home in Washington State.
